The idea
Kids draw amazing comics on paper, and then they sit in a drawer. Panelpop makes the jump from paper to a moving, talking comic take minutes, on the iPad that is already in the house.
What I built
- Camera scanning with auto page detection, straightening, and paper whitening
- Automatic panel detection with manual corner adjustment
- Speech bubbles, sound effects, and an animated comic player
- Claude-assisted tools, plus export to video and PDF
- Runs as a Windows service, reached from the iPad over Tailscale
